PASTOR JASON COOPER
Pastor Jason was raised in Upstate New York where he claims there were more cows than people. He earned an AAS degree from SUNY Morrisville before transferring to Iowa to attend Grandview College. While at Grandview he began to sense and discern God's call to ordained ministry. The calling led him to spend a summer working at Riverside Lutheran Bible Camp in Story City, IA where he met his wife Amy (an Iowa native). Pastor Jason transferred colleges so he and Amy could be together and get married. He received his BA from Concordia University in Portland, OR.
Pastor Jason and Amy spent 3 years working at Midland College Fremont, NE where he finally fully accepted God's call and after having their daughter Maia, headed off to seminary at Lutheran Theological Seminary Gettysburg, PA. In 2004 Pastor Jason was ordained and began his first call in Strawberry Point, IA where his two sons Jensen and Evan were born. In 2010 Pastor Jason assisted the start of a Mission Congregation in Holstein, IA before receiving the call to Eagle Grove, IA in 2011.
Pastor likes to say, "I was raised in NY, but I'm an Iowan by the grace of God!"
